چکیده

A non-spherical model for bubble formation at an ori"ce with liquid cross-#ow has been developed. The interface element approach is applied to describe the dynamics of bubble formation. The e!ect of liquid cross-#ow on the bubble formation process is modelled by a combination of tilting of the bubble axis and liquid pressure analysis of each element on the bubble interface. Model predictions compare well with the experimental results available in the literature for di!erent conditions of gas #ow rate, ori"ce diameter and liquid cross-#ow velocity. Simulated bubble shapes are highly non-spherical, especially at high liquid velocities, and bear a striking resemblance with the experimental high-speed video sequences. ( 2000 Elsevier Science Ltd. A model for bubble formation and weeping at a submerged ori%ce with liquid cross-(ow

A new theoretical model to predict bubble frequencies and weeping rates at a submerged ori%ce with liquid cross-(ow has been developed. The model predicts a signi%cant in(uence of liquid cross-(ow velocity on bubble formation frequency, and especially on liquid weeping. Simulated values of weeping rates for di7erent ori%ce diameters, gas (owrates and liquid cross-(ow velocities show good agreem...

Theoretical Analysis of Bubble Formation in a Co-Flowing Liquid

A realistic non-spherical model for bubble formation in a co-flowing liquid is presented. In the model, an interfacial element approach is applied to describe the dynamics of bubble formation. The effect of flowing liquid velocity is modeled by a combination of the bubble axis translation and liquid pressure analysis of each interfacial element. The bubble shapes during formation are predicted ...

A model for bubble formation and weeping at a submerged ori"ce

A theoretical model for bubble formation and weeping has been developed. Potential #ow theory is used to describe bubble formation at the ori"ce. The in#uence of detached, rising bubbles on liquid pressure at the ori"ce is predicted by Oseen's modi"cation to potential #ow. Model predictions of bubble volumes, weeping #ow rates and weep points agree well with experimental results. ( 2000 Elsevie...

A method for detecting bubbles in two-phase gas-liquid flow

Detecting bubble in two-phase flow has been a basic issue in two-phase flow systems. A new method for measuring the frequency of bubble formation is presented in this paper. For this purpose, an electronic device was designed and constructed which works based on a change in intensity of laser beam. For this purpose, continues light beam is embedded just above the needle, which is received by a ...

Analysis of Pseudo-Turbulence Flow Induced by Bubble Periodic Formation in Non-Newtonian Fluids

Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) has been employed to determine pseudo-turbulence characteristics of the flow field around bubble train forming in non-Newtonian caboxymethylcellulose (CMC) aqueous solution at low gas flow rate condition. The Reynolds stress and turbulent intensity of the liquid were investigated by means of Reynolds time-averaged method. The experimental results show that ax...
